Two apps for meeting people on your sailing. Here is which one fits.
Choose Nautir if you want mandatory ID on everyone you talk to, password-protected rooms, and the cheapest subscription. It is a third of our price.
Choose CruiseHuddle if you want the person who built it answering you directly, want to know the person is actually booked on your ship, keep the people you meet after you disembark, share a cabin to skip the solo supplement, or earn your membership instead of paying for it.
Both verify government ID through the same company, Didit. Both are free to join. Plenty of people use both.
Jay is here — and she actually answers. Jay built CruiseHuddle, she uses it, and she answers members herself — several times a day, every day. Not a support desk and not a community manager. The person who makes the decisions, reachable by anyone who joins. We have not found another app in this space where that is true.
“Thanks for always answering and being so nice. I appreciate you for making this even though I have had no luck.”
— ShipHappensLate, March 2026
Someone reads the booking. Send us your booking document and a person reads it — ship, date, name — against your listing. Right now 38% of upcoming listings carry one. An ID scan confirms who someone is. This confirms a booking for that ship and that sailing.
The people outlast the cruise. Your conversations stay. Nautir locks match chats when the sailing ends and deletes messages seven days later. We think the friends you make at sea are worth keeping.
You can earn it instead of buying it. One live example: Share a Link. Post a link to CruiseHuddle on Reddit, Facebook, FetLife or Cruise Critic and the first ten people on each platform get a week of full membership. Someone checks the proof before it is awarded. Missions run regularly and some pay in merchandise.
Free. Search your ship and date before you sign up for anything.

Nautir wins four of those rows and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Mandatory ID is a stricter bar than ours. Their rooms exist and ours do not. They block screenshots on Android. They cost a third of what we do.
Their Android blocking is real and it works. On iPhone nothing is blocked — Apple provides no way to — so a screenshot succeeds and the app records an attempt against you instead. Three in a day locks the account for a week, per their own site.
On every platform the defeat is pointing a second phone at the screen. No log, no strike. We would rather you knew that than felt protected by it.
Four different things get called “verified”. They are not interchangeable, so here is exactly what each one is.
| Check | Who does it | What it proves |
|---|---|---|
| Age declaration | Everyone, at signup | You state that you are 18 or over. A declaration, not a technical check. |
| Government ID | Optional, paid add-on | Didit checks your ID and a liveness scan. Earns the shield. |
| Booking | Optional, free | A person reads your booking document. Earns Confirmed Sailing. |
| Trust tier | Earned by taking part | New, Contributor, Top Contributor. Not identity. |
Nautir requires government ID before you can message anyone. Ours is optional. On that specific point their bar is higher, and their page is right to make something of it.
CruiseHuddle offers government ID verification through Didit — the same provider Nautir uses. Their privacy policy names it: “Your documents are processed by our verification partner (Didit) and never stored by Nautir.” Ours is optional where theirs is required, which is a fair distinction. Describing it as age-checking only is not.
CruiseHuddle has an Android app on Google Play. Their platform row leaves it out.

All of that is on their App Store listing and their own website. We are not claiming it makes their recommendations biased — we are saying it is worth knowing, and it is not on their comparison page.
For our part: CruiseHuddle earns from memberships, merchandise, listing boosts and advertising. We take no commission on any booking and we do not sell cruises.
Jay is one half of the couple that built CruiseHuddle. She welcomes new members herself and answers questions herself. When something goes wrong you are talking to the person who can fix it, usually the same day.
CruiseHuddle Live is the same idea. We go live to talk about cruising, take questions on camera, and get everyone in one place at once. If you want to know who runs this before you trust it with your cruise, turn up and watch.
Last checked 23 September 2026. Nautir details come from its App Store and Google Play listings, its privacy policy and its own site. CruiseHuddle figures are live platform counts, refreshed every six hours.
Both, and they are separate things. Everyone states they are 18 or over at signup, which is a declaration rather than a check. Government ID verification is an optional paid add-on through Didit, the same provider Nautir uses, and it earns the shield on your profile. Nautir requires ID before you can message anyone, so their requirement is stricter.
You send us the booking document for your cruise and a person reads it, checking the ship, the date and the name against your listing. It is not automated and not instant. Nautir has no booking verification at all, which their own comparison page states.
Yes, native iOS and Android apps, plus the full website, which works on any phone or desktop. Nautir is app-only.
Yes. Missions give full access without paying. One live example: share a link to CruiseHuddle on Reddit, Facebook, FetLife or Cruise Critic and the first ten people on each platform get a week of full membership. Someone checks the proof before it is awarded.
Nautir is published by a travel agency that is paid commission by cruise lines, so the app is not the only way they earn from a member. We take no commission on any booking. CruiseHuddle earns from memberships, merchandise, listing boosts and advertising.
Nautir is published by Travel By Trinidad, LLC. Its App Store seller of record is Trinidad Family Vacations, LLC and its Google Play developer is TRINIDAD FAMILY VACATIONS LLC. CruiseHuddle is run by the couple who built it.
They stay. Nautir locks match chats when the cruise ends and deletes messages seven days after sailing. We do not delete anything on a timer.
CruiseHuddle. CabinShare exists so solo cruisers can split a cabin and avoid the solo supplement. Nautir does not have it, and their own comparison page says so.
Of course. Both are free to join. If you want the best chance of finding your people on a specific sailing, being on both costs you nothing.
