Disappointing Experience on Carnival Vista

We boarded the Carnival Vista on March 15, 2026, at Port Canaveral in Orlando, Florida, excited for our 6-night Caribbean adventure. Our first impressions were quite let down as the ship looked very dirty and worn out. We had high hopes but the state of our cabin and public areas was a turn-off.

The highlight of our trip was definitely visiting the beautiful island of Half Moon Cay. We also enjoyed our time on Celebration Key Bahamas and Puerto Plata-Amber Cove in Dominicana. These stops offered us a chance to unwind and enjoy the Caribbean beaches, which was a much-needed break from the subpar experience on the ship.

We found the social scene and atmosphere on board to be somewhat lacking. We were hoping for a lively and engaging crowd, but it seemed like people were mostly keeping to themselves. The events and activities offered by the ship were average and didn't really peak our interest.

Our biggest gripe was with the cleanliness and maintenance of the ship. It was clear that the Vista hasn't been well-maintained, which made for an uncomfortable stay. The pool area was overcrowded and dirty, and the food options were limited and not very appetizing. We visited Carnival's private island, RelaxAway, which was nice but didn't make up for the overall disappointing experience.

In the end, while we love Carnival Cruise Line and have had great experiences with them before, we wouldn't recommend the Vista. Maybe some refurbishment and better maintenance would change our minds, but for now, we'd suggest looking into other options.
