We're in the same boat (pun intended). Phones are fine for most things, but we wanted something better for capturing memories, especially in low light around the ship at night. We picked up a compact mirrorless camera last year, a Sony ZV-E10. It fits in my beach bag and the flip-out screen is great for quick shots. It's been a game-changer for those spontaneous hot tub moments where you want better quality than a phone can manage. Waterproof case is a must if you're going anywhere near the pool, though.

Thanks for the tip!! Interestingly enough, while researching cameras for CruiseHuddle Live that Sony camera came up on our search results as one of the most popular cameras for streaming. The images quality is supposed to be amazing!!

ive been using a gopro for everything lately. its perfect for when im trying to snag a quick shot on a snorkel excursion or just messing around on the lido deck with wet hands. totally waterproof and theres a mount for everything. you can clip it to a backpack strap and basically forget about it until something cool happens. honestly i barely even take my phone out now for spur of the moment stuff.
