Is it worth it to book your next cruise onboard during your current cruise?

Royal Caribbean has their "NextCruise" area, and I'm thinking other cruise lines may have something similar. However, I have not checked pricing to compare, so I thought I'd check what other people have experienced when booking their next cruise while on board. Any recommendations or experiences would be appreciated. Thank you

I’d say yes, but look at the details. Sometimes you can get locked into a small, specific window, while other times you have a broad timeframe to choose from. I would default to yes, with some fine-print scrutiny. Your best savings can also come from seasonal promotions and/or last-minute pushes by companies to fill a ship. Last-minute pushes can be public, but they're usually held by travel companies or agents with enough numbers to help fill the ship. I hope that makes sense and helps.

Thank you. That is helpful. I'm now thinking that one should have an idea of when they want to cruise before they go to make a booking onboard, and should look at pricing in order to verify they're getting a good price.
