Junior suite w/ large balcony - deck 8 or 9 on Oasis class

Booking Harmony for next year. We want a JS with the biggest balcony possible. Looking at deck plans, some on 8 look bigger but 9 is higher up. Any downside to deck 8? Heard noise from Boardwalk maybe? Want space for private sun time.
Also, any chance of connecting JS cabins on these decks? Would be cool to link with another couple.
