Wilton Manors After Dark

Wilton Manors is one of the most walkable, late-night-friendly nightlife strips in the country, with a dense run of bars and clubs on Wilton Drive that stay lively well past midnight. Club Xtra sits right on that strip and is worth knowing about specifically for its all-transgender cast, a niche booking distinct from the district's broader gay bar scene. Most of the area leans LGBTQ+-oriented rather than couples-lifestyle-oriented, so it's a better fit for an open-minded night out than a hunting ground for swinger contacts.

Las Olas for Dinner and a Slower Evening

Las Olas Boulevard is the port's best bet for an upscale night that doesn't require any particular scene affiliation: good restaurants, rooftop and lounge bars, and a crowd that skews tourist and local rather than niche. It's the natural choice for a couple who wants a normal, polished evening before or after a cruise, with the option of continuing on to Wilton Manors or a lifestyle venue afterward given the short drive between all three areas.

An Adults-Only Base in Hollywood

The Rooftop Resort in Hollywood Beach is a small, clothing-optional, adults-only property with a rooftop pool and an on-site weekend nightclub, positioned explicitly for swingers and nudists rather than general adults-only travelers. It sits about 15 minutes south of the port, close enough to use as a pre- or post-cruise stay, or simply to drop in on its weekend nightclub for an evening without booking a room. It's the closest thing this region has to a dedicated lifestyle-and-nudity property rather than a mainstream hotel.

Clothing-Optional Beach Access

Broward County has no sanctioned clothing-optional beach of its own. The nearest is Haulover Beach in Miami-Dade, roughly 45 minutes to an hour south, and it's a legitimate day-trip option if a couple wants beach time built around nudity rather than just an evening scene. For a land-based naturist stay rather than a beach visit, Sunnier Palms near Port St. Lucie is the closest AANR-affiliated option, but at 90 minutes to two hours north it's realistically an add-on trip, not a pre-cruise evening plan.

Getting Around

A rental car or rideshare is the way to do this port justice; nothing on this list is walkable from the Port Everglades terminal. Wilton Manors and Las Olas are both roughly 10-15 minutes away and easy to combine in one evening. Trapeze Club is a similarly short hop, while Miami Velvet, the Rooftop Resort, and Haulover Beach all run 30-60 minutes depending on traffic, so treat those as a dedicated outing rather than a quick stop on the way to somewhere else. Since this is an embarkation port, there's no all-aboard clock to watch on the pre-cruise night, but check your cruise line's evening boarding or check-in cutoff if you're doing this the day of embarkation itself.

On-premise lifestyle clubs typically have their own dress codes, couples/singles policies, and etiquette; check a venue's site before you go rather than assume open-door access.
Wilton Manors is a mixed nightlife district, not a lifestyle scene; most bars there are not oriented toward swinger couples specifically.
Photography is generally unwelcome inside lifestyle venues and on clothing-optional beach sections; ask before assuming it's fine to bring out a phone.
Rideshare pickup near nightlife-dense strips like Wilton Drive can be slow on weekend nights; build in extra time.
If combining a beach day at Haulover with a same-day flight or cruise embarkation, treat it as a half-day commitment given the drive time each way.

Fort Lauderdale punches well above most embarkation ports for this audience, mainly because you're close enough to tap into the wider South Florida scene rather than relying on Broward alone. Trapeze Club and the Rooftop Resort give you legitimate lifestyle and clothing-optional options within a short drive, Miami Velvet is worth the extra 40 minutes if you want the region's biggest on-premise club, and Wilton Manors or Las Olas cover a great normal night out. The one thing this port doesn't have is its own clothing-optional beach, so if that's the priority, plan on Haulover as a deliberate day trip rather than something you'll stumble into.

The Rules Here — Broward County, Florida

Florida Statute 800.03 makes it an offence to be naked in public in a vulgar or indecent manner, but it carves out anyone merely naked at any place provided or set apart for that purpose. That exception is what makes designated clothing-optional areas and private naturist property lawful, and everything else follows from it.

Broward County has no designated clothing-optional beach. The nearest sanctioned one is Haulover Beach Park in Miami-Dade, roughly half an hour south of Port Everglades, where the county has set apart the northern third of the beach between lifeguard towers 12 and 16 and has done since 1991. The next nearest is near Fort Pierce, well over an hour north. On any other public beach in Broward, including Fort Lauderdale Beach itself, clothing is required.

The other lawful route here is private property. A clothing-optional hotel or naturist club is land set apart for the purpose, which is why nudity is lawful inside the gates and unlawful the moment you leave. Access control — ID checks, memberships, day passes — is both the business model and the mechanism that keeps it lawful.

Female toplessness sits in a grey area outside a designated area and is legally risky on any public beach. Where you will reliably see it is on private property that permits it, which is the owner's choice rather than a public right, and it does not extend to the sand in front of the building.

The exception covers nudity, not behaviour. Sexual activity and lewd conduct remain illegal in a designated area exactly as anywhere else, and photographing other people without their consent will get you confronted or removed.
