Started Great... Ended as a Nightmare!!

Embarkation was smooth and the first impression of Carnival Glory was generally positive. The ship is definitely showing its age, but it was clean and well-maintained overall. Unfortunately, some maintenance issues became apparent quickly. The main pool was closed on embarkation day for maintenance, and the retractable roof over the Serenity adults-only area was inoperable for the entire cruise, which significantly impacted our experience later.
The first two days of the cruise were fantastic. We had a great time relaxing, enjoying the sunshine, meeting new people, and making memories. Guy's Burger Bar was consistently one of the best dining options onboard, and we spent much of the cruise simply enjoying time together and taking advantage of a much-needed getaway. Those first two days were exactly what we hoped our vacation would be.
The overall vibe was mixed. Most passengers were friendly, and we met some wonderful people during the first half of the cruise. Unfortunately, the final day was overshadowed by repeated harassment from a group of passengers that eventually escalated into threats of violence against my wife. The situation became serious enough that we involved ship security and spent much of the final day confined to our cabin because we no longer felt safe. What should have been a fun and social atmosphere became incredibly stressful and upsetting.
Carnival Glory is an older ship and it shows. The food was average overall, and we found ourselves eating at Guy's Burger Bar more often than anywhere else. The buffet was underwhelming, and the drinks seemed weaker than what we've experienced on other cruise lines.
The Serenity area was particularly disappointing. Because the retractable roof was broken and remained closed throughout the cruise, the area felt more like a sauna than a relaxing adults-only retreat. During the one time we attempted to use the Serenity pool, a guest discovered what appeared to be a used tampon floating in the water. Guests immediately exited the pool, but it remained open for approximately an hour before finally being drained and refilled despite numerous complaints. The entire situation was unsanitary and poorly handled.
The biggest issue, however, was the handling of a passenger harassment incident during the final day of the cruise. Security eventually took steps to assist us, but only after multiple reports and continued concerns for our safety. Losing essentially the entire final day and evening of a four-night cruise was incredibly disappointing.
This cruise felt like two completely different vacations. The first half was wonderful, but the second half turned into a nightmare due to passenger harassment and a delayed security response. Unfortunately, the events of the final day overshadowed all the good memories from the beginning of the trip. Based on this experience, I would be hesitant to sail Carnival Glory again.
Pros
Smooth embarkation process Clean ship despite its age Great first two days Guy's Burger Bar was consistently good Met some wonderful people onboard
Cons
Main pool closed on embarkation day Serenity roof broken entire cruise Serenity pool sanitation incident handled poorly Average food and weak drinks Crew lacked the friendliness found on other cruise lines Passenger harassment escalated into threats Security response was initially inadequate Lost the entire final day and evening due to safety concerns
Tips
If you're sailing Carnival Glory, have realistic expectations regarding the ship's age and amenities. If you encounter any passenger issues, report them immediately and document everything. On a short cruise, maintenance issues can have a bigger impact since every day counts.
